Ranganathan Society for Social Welfare and Library Development (RSSWLD) came into existence in 2009. It aims to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge and information at the grass root level by setting up libraries in the rural areas. The society’s primary goal is intellectual development of the underprivileged sections of society so that they can avail competitive employment opportunities and lead a dignified social existence. So far RSSLWD has established “Bimtech Pustakalaya” in 11 prisons, namely Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budhha Nagar (Male and Female Wing), Meerut, Agra, Aligarh, Etawah, Bulandshahar, Mathura, and Firozabad. Other than jails, RSSWLD is also working towards establishing libraries in rural areas and has already established libraries in ten villages. Society is also committed to child cognitive developments, therefore, started “Toy-Library” in various prisons of Uttar Pradesh for those kids who are staying with mothers in the boundary of prison.

RSSWLD is also actively involved in charity services to the society, especially for the underprivileged sector. Like every year, this year (2018-19) RSSWLD has also added one new chapter “Thousand Blankets ….Thousand Lives” in its good book. RSSWLD has also started knowledge sharing services. Every year inter-disciplinary Research Workshops are organized regularly for the scholars, especially library professionals from across the country. Since its inception, RSSWLD has been upgrading a number of libraries and promoting open source software.
In 2016 society started one more project to its mission of dissemination of knowledge and information at the grass root level in rural areas i.e. women empowerment by launching a project “Protsahan Chiraiya” in Village Neemka, Block Zevar, District Gautam Budhha Nagar. This village is adopted by local Member of Parliament Dr. Mahesh Sharma under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna. The project is spread over 5 phases called Chiraiya, Chahek, Agradoot, Samwaad, and Udaan. and till date, we have transformed the lives of 200+ rural girls. This project envisions providing educational and training avenues for rural girls. To promote Digital Literacy Bimtech has started the mobile computer laboratory “WOW-World on Wheels ” which is equipped with HP (Hewlett-Packard) computing and printing technology, software, and e-learning tools. Driven to achieve the objective of digital inclusion WOW provide people in rural India with digital access to quality education, entrepreneurship training, and common public services. The priority of the WOW bus is Digital Literacy, Information Technology education, and common service center Electronic data processing.

Ranganathan society has established 8 jail libraries.Ranganathan Society for Social welfare and library Development is a NGO which supported by Birla institute of Management Technology.It also includes various programme not just establishment of library or girl education but also like Nukkad Natak, World Environment day, workshops / conferences, Van Mahotsav Celebration, Ice Bucket Challenge etc.We create unforgettable experiences, bringing brands to life.This NGO plays a vital role in itself and for BIMTECH people.The “Project Protsahan chiraiyya” signifies educating rural girls and also to empower them by providing“Life Skill Education”(LSE) and “Basic English Education” (BEE).It was started at Neemka Shajahanpur, Jewar Tehsil, U.P. “Project Protsahan Chiraiyya” has launched its fifth batch successfully and as on date there are 150 girls who have attended and participated in “Protsahan chiraiyya”.
